Trace your heritage with the help of a Specialist

Marilyn J. Montgomery

Professional Genealogist

Welcome to the official website of Montgomery Genealogical Services. My name is Marilyn Montgomery, and I am here to help you learn more about your ancestors and/or to make the process of researching on your own easier -- and at affordable prices.

I offer research services to individuals anywhere in the U.S. who want to know more about their heritage.  I can also help you learn about the world of DNA testing -- what tests are available, what testing sites are available, and how to interpret and apply the results to your family history research.

I have extensive experience in traditional evidentiary (documentation) research, online and off-line. More recently, I have begun using DNA testing results to find the familial relationships between my clients and their many DNA "matches" that sites like Ancestry.com and 23andMe.com found for them. DNA results can also be a tremendous help in ensuring that the ancestral trail we are following in our research is the correct one.

So if you’re looking for someone to help you with your genealogical needs with professionalism, attention to detail, and observing the strictest confidentiality for your family's information, then you're in the right place!

Contact me today to set up a FREE 30-min introductory session to help you decide if I can be of service to you.

Biography

I began my love affair with genealogy more than 23 years ago, and I still love the hunt for that elusive piece of evidence! My own family trees have more than 8,000 individuals, and they're growing every day.

After retiring in 2018 from a successful career in accounting and information technology, I decided I wanted to devote my retirement years to a new career -- in genealogy.  To broaden my knowledge, I completed Boston University’s online courses Genealogical Principles and Certification Program in Genealogical Research in 2019.  I continue learning the newest genealogical and genetic techniques through association conferences, webinars, and workshops.

Belonging to top-notch genealogical organizations is a must for any genealogical professional. Therefore, I am a proud member of the Association of Professional Genealogists (APG), the National Genealogical Society (NGS), the Arizona Council of Professional Genealogists (AzCPG), and the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Apache Trail Chapter.

I reside in Mesa, Arizona, where Montgomery Genealogical Services is based.
